Artichoke leaves

Artichoke is a healing herb, mainly used to treat gastrointestinal disorders. It is a "bitter" herb, this is due to cynarin which stimulates bile production, cleanses the liver of accumulated fat, relieves bloating and gastric pain. Artichoke is also a diuretic and is recommended in kidney diseases. With its antibacterial properties it helps to keep blood sugar levels within the permissible limits. It does not contain caffeine.

Preparation:

Soak a tablespoon in a cup of warm water for 6-8 minutes. Add sugar, honey or any sweetener you like, lemon and enjoy!
